For the second year Land Rover's Discovery has been judged the best Tow Car over 1900kg.  It beat off competition including the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes M Class to claim the title.  Judges at the 2008 Practical Caravan, What Car? and Camping and Caravanning Club Tow Car Awards said "Last year the Discovery 3 was a clear winner in this class.  In 2008 some very tough competition ran the Land Rover close, but it has held on to the heavyweight class for a second year.  Others can't match the Discovery's broad blend of talents.  In particular, the cabin is exceptionally spacious and versatile'.  As part of the testing for the awards, all the vehicles were put through a series of specially devised tests for stability, hill starts, acceleration and braking, and practicality.  These took place at the Motor Industry Research Centre (MIRA) in Warwickshire.
